Would You Wear These?

So what do you think of the pajama pant (and sometimes top) trend?  I've recently spotted this trend in tall sizes and I wanted to get your take: {via} Here are a couple of tall satin pajama pants I stumbled across: Tall Julie Straight Leg Pant in Drapey Satin Crepe. Tall Marisa Straight Leg Pant in Drapey Satin Crepe. I think if you want to rock this trend, these pairs are a bit safer than patterned pairs.  It's like a taste of the trend without FULLY embracing it!  I think I'd pair these pants with a high quality tank, heels, and a statement necklace.  And maybe a cuff bracelet.  I think it's key to keep it simple.  For other tips on how to wear this trend check out this post over at Obsessed. Lots of great inspiration images as well! So how do you feel about the pajama pant trend?  Love it? Hate it?  I've learned to never say never when it comes to fashion but I can't say I'm in love...yet. ;)   … [Read more...]

I ♥ Pilates

If you're a newsletter subscriber, you may remember that in one of the Christmas gift guides, Tiffany suggested buying a Roku.  She was so convincing that I bought Mr. Tall a Roku player.  If you're not familiar with what it is, it's a small media player that hooks into your television and connects to your WIFI. You can then broadcast Amazon movies easily as well as hundreds of other channels. Think of it as the ultimate remote control. Mr. Tall loves it, but I may love it even more. I missed the "Downton Abbey" craze and am now watching all the episodes via my Roku stream.  I just about fell over when my teen sons admitted that they love the show too! :) Anyway, what I really wanted to share with you today is that I love the Pilates Anytime Channel! You know me, when I love something, I share it with you.   I'm still on the 15 day free trial period of this channel and I must say that I'm enjoying it.  My feet are doing my better after my plantar fasciitis, but I'm not … [Read more...]

Tall Womens Workout Wear

This time of year I always make a goal of getting in shape.  I'm actually glad that January happens in the winter as it's a good reminder to get my body moving. Otherwise, I may just curl up and wait for Spring weather as it's so stinking cold outside!  I splurged a little too much on holiday goodies and my body feels like crap. So it's time to kick it into high gear.  I wrote down my goals yesterday and I'm on a perfect streak of exercise (2 days in a row).  He he!  I'm hoping my feet will hold up as I've spent from June-December rehabbing them. They seem to be feeling good, so I'm crossing my fingers. I'm pretty set right now with workout clothes, but I know some of you are looking for some new choices. Our newsletter today was all out tall fitness clothes. In case you missed it, you can view it here.  Be sure to sign up for future newsletters. I also want to show you a few more choices in tall womens workout wear: You may also like Elle Mayers tall womens workout wear. … [Read more...]

Slightly Curvy Tall Wardrobe: Personal Shopping

Client 5'11" tall, Age 32 Size 10, 36" Inseam, Size 12 shoes. Budget: $500 Wants: a capsule wardrobe for work for a smart casual to dressy office, but no denim. She chose the colors of  navy, black, and jewel tones. Accent cream. Additional info: Her body has changed since having a child as she has some "new found hips". She loves her new body, but doesn't know what to wear anymore. She's looking to get rid of almost everything in her wardrobe as most of her outfits don't flatter her midsection of hips. She has a pair of black riding boots, plenty of handbags and outerwear. Tall Snob Responds: First off, I tried to stay within your budget, but I felt like I couldn't do it. Tall sizes are limited and so I finally just decided to pick out pieces that will flatter your figure. Then you can decide what you like the best and possibly use this as a guide to build upon. You will need to add more shoes and accessories to the wardrobe below. Hopefully you already have … [Read more...]

Elle Mayers Tall Activewear Review

Liz, the owner of Elle Mayers has been a great friend to me. Over the past 2 years we have bounced ideas off each other which is crucial when you are running niche businesses. So many of you have praised the Elle Mayers tall activewear line and so I figured it was time I try it out too. Elle Mayers just completed their second year in business and they started out with just a few products and have grown steadily with more products added all of the time. Check out Liz's goal below: Post by Elle mayers for tall women. I am proud to say that I am the first woman in Utah wearing Elle Mayers activewear and I love it! Here is what I purchased: Linden T-Shirt - in pink. - Extra long sleeves with antibacterial wicking fabric that is soft and comfortable. EM Flare Pants  - really comfy, yet holds me in without feeling restricted. Moves well with my body. I love that these items are created by a tall woman who understands how to create them proportionate to our heights.  I … [Read more...]

Personal Shopping: Mature Tall Woman Hates Low Riders

Client: 6' tall, 64 years Size: 36" inseam. Wants: Stylish pants geared toward her age. She says "I have found slacks at Long Elegant Legs but now most of their pants are the mid rise and not the classic rise. Can you help me???" Tall Snob Responds I understand that you don't want panty peak and you want more coverage. Here are the choices I found: Although a mid-rise, I've had good luck with Eddie Bauer pants being flattering without being too low. I haven't tried this one, but the fabric is very forgiving:  Ponte Pants - 36" Inseam Tall Wool Pants - sits at waist, 36.5" inseam. Also in navy. Curvy Tall Flannel Trousers Tall Twill Pants As far as jeans go, I actually own this pair of  Not Your Daughter's Jeans. I love the rise and they contain slimming panels.  Tall Not Your Daughter's Jeans - 36" inseam. Classic Tall Shaping Jeans - also in black Any other tall women, feel free to add your recommendations in the comments below: … [Read more...]

Camo Craze + Military Inspired Fashion

Over on Tall Clothing Mall I posted about the camo craze for men and have been meaning to do a similar post here.  This is a trend I love (maybe due to my military background?).  I'm not very into prints but camouflage is one that doesn't intimidate me (go figure).  I love the thought of pairing with neutrals and basics, using accessories, or of course pairing with chambray.  Just make sure not to overdo it or people will ask when you enlisted.  Without further ado here are some of my fave camo and military inspired pieces: 1969 Camo Front Zip Always Skinny Tall Jeans. Rocket Dog Beanie Boot. Up to size 14.  Free People Boiled Wool Military Peacoat. This is not a tall item but since a) it's gorgeous and b) it looks ridiculously big/long on the 5'7" model (who's wearing a size 0) I figure there's hope for a tall gal.  With free shipping and returns it's worth the risk! Steve Madden Camo Infinity Scarf. Call it SPRING Florian.  Up to size 11.  Women's The Rockstar Zip Pocket … [Read more...]
