Under $35 Tall Clothing Reviews

Hi there! Sorry I've been MIA.  My daughter is turning 2 and I've been busy planning her birthday party.  You may remember from this post, I love to go all out...and it typically catches up with me in the final weeks! But I wanted to stop by quickly to review some tall clothing items for you before they sell out! Later, I will attempt making outfits with them like I did here.  But for now... First up?  The sweats I featured in the tall lounge wear post.  Women's Tall Drawstring Skinny Sweatpants. $22.94 I have zero negatives about these pants! They are super soft, don't stretch out too much, and fit just right! I ordered a medium and they are roomy without being too big.  If I want them tighter I can roll down the waist band.  Sometimes this partner store has fake drawstrings on their clothes (a pet peeve of mine!), but this draw string is real so you can adjust appropriately.  I am 6 feet tall and the medium is plenty long enough.  I'd say these pants would fit up to 6'2" and … [Read more...]

Tall Clothing Review and Outfit Inspiration

After my last review complete with photos I was a little nervous...but you all made me feel loved! I'm back with another review + outfit inspiration.  This one features two recent purchases.  This denim jacket: Women's Tall Denim Jacket. Unfortunately the tall size sold out in this wash but it's available in two awesome washes here and here. and these lounge pants: Ashby Style Liberty Extra Long Lounge Pants 39 inch inseam.  I'll cut to the chase: I love them both! But for objectivity's sake, I'll list out some pros and cons. ;) for the denim jacket: I first tried the medium.  I wanted it to be long enough and have a little room to wear a sweater underneath.  It looked awful! It looked weird and boxy with tons of room in the arms--upper arms specifically.  I think if you have a broader build and thicker arms it could be cute but for me it didn't work.  I almost didn't even try a smaller size because it seemed like more of a 'cut' issue than a 'fit' issue...but I did love how … [Read more...]

Tall Lounge Wear

As summer begins to wind down I can't help but think of lazy cozy fall days...I love fall in New England but it gets cold. Fast.  I don't go out nearly as often when it's cold...but I also find that looking like a slob makes me feel like one.  Enter these cute and casual tall lounge wear pieces: Saint Grace Striped Wide leg Pants 39 inch inseam. Only ONE left in stock! But you can find them here, here, or here. They're styled perfectly in the stock photo above--put on a fitted Henley and you're comfy but stylish.  By the way, I recently ordered a pair and I LOVE them.  They are so soft and SO long. As the manufacturer suggests I will cut them to make them the appropriate length for me.   Women's Tall Fold-Over Jersey Lounge Pants.  Ok, these aren't that special but pair them with a perfect fitted tall tee (like this one) and fun "running" shoes (like these) and you're golden. Plus you can't beat the price! Think of it as a look for less version of the pants above. Women's … [Read more...]

Pretty Pleated Skirts: Risk Free

I love Asos.  That said, I have never ordered from there.  The first purchase from an online retailer is always the hardest.  Once you've ordered a few items you have a sense of their sizing and can be more comfortable.  But before that, the thought of paying shipping there AND back if the item doesn't fit is enough to give me pause.  Well now, Asos is offering free shipping BOTH ways which means a risk free purchase for you!  I'm loving these pretty skirts.  Small at the waist, a floaty A-line, and pretty pleats are flattering on nearly every figure.  It's also an ideal silhouette for a tall gal to try since there aren't any seams that fall in the wrong place.   I love that each is paired with a simple T or tank.  Definitely an easy look to replicate. I picked the midi length (and one maxi) since we are tall an don't dare try the minis.  They are 27 to 28 2/3 inches long.  The models wearing them are all 5'9." Asos Midi Skirt in Floral Jewel Print. Floral is a favorite spring … [Read more...]

Pinterest Inspired Outfit: The Tulle Skirt.

The minute I saw this Mid Length Tulle Skirt in the Tall Snob store I loved it.  And even after this post, I just wasn't sure how to wear it.  The color (navy or tan), the price (just $33), and the length (mid) were all perfect...but none of that matters if it sits in the back of your closet!  But then I happened upon this pin and I knew I had to share my conundrum.  Because this makes finding outfits featuring a tulle skirt, SO easy: Pinterest Image via Fast Food & Fast Fashion. Here is my interpretation...for the tall gal of course: Look 1: Tulle Skirt + Oversized white tee. (Tulle Skirt. Women's Crepe Scoop Neck Tee. Tall.) Look 2: Tulle Skirt + Texture. (Tulle Skirt. Tall Affordable Maxi Dress.

A bit ago Krista posted about an extra long sweater dress she happened upon at Alloy.  It can be a challenge to find long maxi dresses, especially ones suitable for fall/winter.  Well Alloy is at it again.  I saw this while perusing through their catalog the other night: Theresa Striped Maxi. Extended Length.  How perfect would this be for a holiday party? Looking for something a bit more...forgivable? How about this one? Nicole Knot Maxi Dress. Extended Length. Tall Cords: Review and Outfit Inspiration.

If you subscribe to the newsletter you saw this image I featured last week: The Image on the left was one I'd pinned a few weeks ago.  I'm not the biggest fan of forest green but the power of Pinterest is so strong! I ordered the tall green skinny cords  after seeing this cute girl (whoever she is) and featuring them in the newsletter.  And so did Krista!  I got them today and [drum roll please]...I LOVE them.  Ok, maybe not all caps.  How did Krista fare?  Keep reading for the skinny on these skinnies: Tiffany's fit: Pros: They're long! I'm six feet tall and they are perfect.  The inseam is about 33 1/2 inches.  They feel great.  They're nice and soft.  The color is spot on.  If you like the image on the left, you'll love the color of this "look for less"  pair.  Speaking of "look for less," these are super affordable! Cons: Low rise.  Maybe this isn't a con for you, but as I mentioned in this post on hi-rise jeans, I'm a fan of a higher rise lately.  But these were so … [Read more...]
