NYDJ for Tall Women

I love the Not Your Daughter's Jeans brand. My pair of NYDJ is my go to jeans when I want to look my best. They have specially designed panels that seem to suck  me in and whether I look thinner or not, I actually feel thinner.  Being a middle-aged woman, I'm not into low-cut jeans. This brand has mid to higher rises, so there's not need to worry about panty-peek.  They are expensive, but I've had the same pair for two years and wear it every week and it's not worn out. I am willing to pay more for a few pieces that I feel are worth it. I've gone through and located the online pairs of NYDJ jeans for tall women. Most come in sizes 0-18 and I've also listed a few tall, plus size jeans. NYDJ Janice Skinny Jeans - 36" Inseam NYDJ Leggings - 36" Inseam NYDJ Skinny 34" Inseam  NYDJ Leggings - 34" Inseam NYDJ Barbara Bootcut - 33" Inseam in 3 colors. Tall Maternity Style & A Review

I can't believe it's been THIS long and I haven't shared any maternity posts!  I suppose life has me very busy but I couldn't go another day without sharing a maternity look with you!  Here's the sporty one I wore the other day: 1969 Always Cuffed Skinny Jeans. I really like the jeans! I love the wash and the cuff.  They aren't "tall" per se but fit like longer length capris.  For some reason this pregnancy, I've had a really hard time finding pants and jeans that stay put and I have to admit these do sag on and off while I'm wearing them--requiring me to pull them up.  I felt in between sizes and went up to the next size which was probably unnecessary because they do stretch a bit throughout the day.  All in all I'd recommend them but be warned- they aren't the perfect pair.  That said, the price is right and it's tough to find cute/trendy maternity wear so to me, the imperfections are worth it. Asos Baseball Maternity Tee. I actually own this one but it's only available in one … [Read more...]

Personal Shopping: Bahamas Bound

Client: Age 26, 6'3" tall. Sizes:  8-10, 37" inseam, size 10 shoes (no heels please) Wants:  Our client won a trip to the Bahamas.  She would like some put together outfits. Tall Snob Responds:  I feel like I'm having a deja vu.  Last May my husband and I also traveled to the Bahamas as we won a trip with Mr. Tall's work.  We spent 4 fabulous days at the Atlantis Resort. Ah, the crystal clear waters and amazing views, you are going to love it there.  I'd go back in a heartbeat. Can you take me please?!? One thing about the Bahamas is that it is really laid back.  You'll find most people wearing shorts and t-shirts most of the time.  You may decide to wear a maxi dress in the evenings for dinner, but formal wear is pretty unusual. Here's what I would pack: Evening Outfit - Chevron Tall Maxi Dress. Flower Sandals. Exploring the Islands -  Tall Mint T-Shirt or Tall Boho Shirt. Boyfriend Tall Shorts. Naturalizer Sandals For the Beach - Navy Tall Tankini. … [Read more...]

Winter’s Not Over Yet: Stylish Snow Boots

I know retailers are slashing prices like crazy and moving onto spring.  But if you live in a cold climate like I do, you know we have a good 3 months left of cold, wet, snowy, and/or slushy weather [insert tears here].  I keep trying to move on but as I type the snow is coming down, so before we start highlighting bright and light spring looks, let's take one last look at a winter topic: snow boots.  It's tough to look stylish when it's freezing out.  But these wet and cold weather boots make the snow a bit more bearable.  They range in size availability from size 10 to 12.5 and in price from $29 to $200+. First a few casual options: Rubber Duck Sporty Snow Jogger Boot. Rubber Duck Trek Jogger Boot.  The North Face Zophia Boot. And now for a few sleeker options: Sorel Conquest Carly. Sorel Slimpack Riding.  Chipahko Wool Blend Boot. Now get out there and play in the snow! … [Read more...]

Another Pretty Holiday Look

Similar to when I felt compelled to create this look after seeing the stunning long gown, I just had to get this one out of my system.  This tall holiday dress is the perfect combination of playful and sophisticated.  I love it!  The price tag is a bit hefty but it's currently 25% off! Besides that, because it's black it's so versatile--weddings, fancy dinners, holiday parties, and more.  Totally worth the investment!   Deluxe by LTS: Tall Holiday Dress. Jet Glass Pearl Convertible Bracelet.  Essie Nail Color. Really Red.vel Jet Lacquer Drops. Nine West Austin. Up to size 12. Paola Velvet Clutch. I'm pretty in love with this vintage inspired look.  The shoes and the clutch just MAKE it! The clutch is under $60 and is calling my name!  Be inspired friends!     … [Read more...]

Fur Real

After seeing a couple of fur items in tall sizes I figured this trend was worth blogging. Of course one of the items (a pretty faux fur vest) must have sold out but there's still plenty to go around.  I mostly love fur. I'll admit; it's a bit daring.  But these days there are so many sources of inspiration and instruction on how to wear certain trends that it's definitely doable.  As always if you can't find the trend in tall sizes or are too afraid to don a full faux fur piece, use accessories to get in on the action.  Just have fun with it! Tall Fur Jacket. I'd wear this with skinny jeans and merlot pumps or edgy black booties. Faux Fur Collar Tall Cardigan. A conservative take. Luxury Faux Fur Scarf. Add fur to any winter ensemble instantly. Cut Faux Tall Fur Coat. It's fashion forward and cool.Tall Navy Fur Collar Coat. Just a touch of fur gives this demure coat a sophisticated edge.  French Connection Faux Fur Clutch. A fun and edgy way to embrace the fur trend.  I love … [Read more...]

Under $35 Tall Clothing Reviews

Hi there! Sorry I've been MIA.  My daughter is turning 2 and I've been busy planning her birthday party.  You may remember from this post, I love to go all out...and it typically catches up with me in the final weeks! But I wanted to stop by quickly to review some tall clothing items for you before they sell out! Later, I will attempt making outfits with them like I did here.  But for now... First up?  The sweats I featured in the tall lounge wear post.  Women's Tall Drawstring Skinny Sweatpants. $22.94 I have zero negatives about these pants! They are super soft, don't stretch out too much, and fit just right! I ordered a medium and they are roomy without being too big.  If I want them tighter I can roll down the waist band.  Sometimes this partner store has fake drawstrings on their clothes (a pet peeve of mine!), but this draw string is real so you can adjust appropriately.  I am 6 feet tall and the medium is plenty long enough.  I'd say these pants would fit up to 6'2" and … [Read more...]

Tall Clothing Review and Outfit Inspiration

After my last review complete with photos I was a little nervous...but you all made me feel loved! I'm back with another review + outfit inspiration.  This one features two recent purchases.  This denim jacket: Women's Tall Denim Jacket. Unfortunately the tall size sold out in this wash but it's available in two awesome washes here and here. and these lounge pants: Ashby Style Liberty Extra Long Lounge Pants 39 inch inseam.  I'll cut to the chase: I love them both! But for objectivity's sake, I'll list out some pros and cons. ;) for the denim jacket: I first tried the medium.  I wanted it to be long enough and have a little room to wear a sweater underneath.  It looked awful! It looked weird and boxy with tons of room in the arms--upper arms specifically.  I think if you have a broader build and thicker arms it could be cute but for me it didn't work.  I almost didn't even try a smaller size because it seemed like more of a 'cut' issue than a 'fit' issue...but I did love how … [Read more...]

Tall Lounge Wear

As summer begins to wind down I can't help but think of lazy cozy fall days...I love fall in New England but it gets cold. Fast.  I don't go out nearly as often when it's cold...but I also find that looking like a slob makes me feel like one.  Enter these cute and casual tall lounge wear pieces: Saint Grace Striped Wide leg Pants 39 inch inseam. Only ONE left in stock! But you can find them here, here, or here. They're styled perfectly in the stock photo above--put on a fitted Henley and you're comfy but stylish.  By the way, I recently ordered a pair and I LOVE them.  They are so soft and SO long. As the manufacturer suggests I will cut them to make them the appropriate length for me.   Women's Tall Fold-Over Jersey Lounge Pants.  Ok, these aren't that special but pair them with a perfect fitted tall tee (like this one) and fun "running" shoes (like these) and you're golden. Plus you can't beat the price! Think of it as a look for less version of the pants above. Women's … [Read more...]
