Here I sit watching "The Oscars". The nominees all look fab dressed to the nines. Millions of people are tuned in and turned on. I love fashion and this is the night I should swoon over every perfect dress or hairstyle. Yet, somehow I sit here disappointed. Yes, they are incredible actors and actresses, but it's only acting. Right? What about real life? Do they act just as wonderful in their real life marriages and every day life? I'm not trying to be a "Debbie Downer", but I'm not incredibly impressed. My mind somehow fades away to my real life. I'm more inspired by my real life heroes that I encounter over my lifetime. So since this is my blog, I feel like paying tribute to the people that inspire me in my daily life or people who have touched me over my lifetime. I Found My Word of the Year!
I've been hearing lots of people choose a word of the year. I've never done this, but find it very interesting. So this year I decided to choose a word, but couldn't figure out one that resonates with me. I want a word that can transcend between my business and personal life. Today while watching a webinar by Ali Brown, I found my word. The word is.... I know you're thinking this is a strange word for someone that is tall. After all, at 6'1" tall, I am already elevated with my height. But when I think of this word this is what comes to my mind and the things I want to accomplish this year. 1. Elevate my Body - Stand straight and tall. Be proud of what I have accomplished. Keep working on my fitness and wellness, both physically and spiritually. Have You Read Any Good Books Lately?
I haven't had time to read much (other than other blogs) for a quite some time. I'm a busy lady! But, now that I have a tablet that has changed. I downloaded the Amazon kindle app and love how easy it is to get books. I've started collecting books and will probably never get through all of them. I find myself sneaking 5 minutes at a time reading books. I take my tablet with me in the car and when I'm waiting for kids, I can read a few minutes here and there. I can't believe how much I have missed reading! I'm currently reading "The Success Principles" by Jack Canfield. It involves taking steps to help you create your best life and I really love the part on visualization. I noticed that Amazon has some free ebooks that I find interesting, perhaps you may too.
