Winter’s Not Over Yet: Stylish Snow Boots

I know retailers are slashing prices like crazy and moving onto spring.  But if you live in a cold climate like I do, you know we have a good 3 months left of cold, wet, snowy, and/or slushy weather [insert tears here].  I keep trying to move on but as I type the snow is coming down, so before we start highlighting bright and light spring looks, let's take one last look at a winter topic: snow boots.  It's tough to look stylish when it's freezing out.  But these wet and cold weather boots make the snow a bit more bearable.  They range in size availability from size 10 to 12.5 and in price from $29 to $200+. First a few casual options: Rubber Duck Sporty Snow Jogger Boot. Rubber Duck Trek Jogger Boot.  The North Face Zophia Boot. And now for a few sleeker options: Sorel Conquest Carly. Sorel Slimpack Riding.  Chipahko Wool Blend Boot. Now get out there and play in the snow! … [Read more...]

Similar to when I felt compelled to create this look after seeing the stunning long gown, I just had to get this one out of my system.  This tall holiday dress is the perfect combination of playful and sophisticated.  I love it!  The price tag is a bit hefty but it's currently 25% off! Besides that, because it's black it's so versatile--weddings, fancy dinners, holiday parties, and more.  Totally worth the investment!   Deluxe by LTS: Tall Holiday Dress. A Regal Holiday Look: Faux Fur, Lace, and Satin.

Remember this post?  I mentioned in it that I was tempted to style this gorgeous dress a bit more trendy. Well I just couldn't help myself! I have to admit though, once I got going, the style of this dress is just so classic that it was tough to attempt a "trendy" look without making it too casual.  I decided to stick with classic but with a bit more edge--suitable for younger and older fashionistas alike.  Take a look! Kenneth Jay Lane Earrings.  (and a less expensive alternative). Guess Caged Stone Ring. “Blair” Stingray Embossed Clutch. Nine West Camya. Up to size 12 Fitzwell Rhodes. Up to size 13 (kitten heel) The Limited Faux Fur Cape. The fur stole, super high heels, and caged ring take this prim look and give it a bit more pizzazz.  Happy Shopping!   … [Read more...]

A Regal Holiday Look: Rosettes, Suede, and Lace

When I saw this lovely dress, I just had to create a look featuring it.  While I was tempted to go trendy, this long, beautiful gown just begged to be styled in the most regal way.  I hope I delivered! I love all the texture featured here: lace, suede, and rosettes.  Texture adds detail and interest that will make people look twice! In case the suede pumps are too high, I included a pair of kitten heel pumps that still get the job done.  I chose accessories that compliment this classic dress and give the entire look a level of maturity.  Add a chic up-do and it doesn't get more glamorous. Tall Lace Maxi Dress. Kate Spade New  York Moodstone Drop Earrings. Rosette Cropped Jacket.  Kate Spade New York Opening Night Hinged Bangle.  Lace Minaudiere Clutch. Nine West Guetette Red Suede Pumps. Up to size 12. RSVP Maren Red Patent Pump. Up to size 12. … [Read more...]

Camo Craze + Military Inspired Fashion

Over on Tall Clothing Mall I posted about the camo craze for men and have been meaning to do a similar post here.  This is a trend I love (maybe due to my military background?).  I'm not very into prints but camouflage is one that doesn't intimidate me (go figure).  I love the thought of pairing with neutrals and basics, using accessories, or of course pairing with chambray.  Just make sure not to overdo it or people will ask when you enlisted.  Without further ado here are some of my fave camo and military inspired pieces: 1969 Camo Front Zip Always Skinny Tall Jeans. Rocket Dog Beanie Boot. Up to size 14.  Free People Boiled Wool Military Peacoat. This is not a tall item but since a) it's gorgeous and b) it looks ridiculously big/long on the 5'7" model (who's wearing a size 0) I figure there's hope for a tall gal.  With free shipping and returns it's worth the risk! Steve Madden Camo Infinity Scarf. Call it SPRING Florian.  Up to size 11.  Women's The Rockstar Zip Pocket … [Read more...]

Fur Real

After seeing a couple of fur items in tall sizes I figured this trend was worth blogging. Of course one of the items (a pretty faux fur vest) must have sold out but there's still plenty to go around.  I mostly love fur. I'll admit; it's a bit daring.  But these days there are so many sources of inspiration and instruction on how to wear certain trends that it's definitely doable.  As always if you can't find the trend in tall sizes or are too afraid to don a full faux fur piece, use accessories to get in on the action.  Just have fun with it! Tall Fur Jacket. I'd wear this with skinny jeans and merlot pumps or edgy black booties. Faux Fur Collar Tall Cardigan. A conservative take. Luxury Faux Fur Scarf. Add fur to any winter ensemble instantly. Cut Faux Tall Fur Coat. It's fashion forward and cool.Tall Navy Fur Collar Coat. Just a touch of fur gives this demure coat a sophisticated edge.  French Connection Faux Fur Clutch. A fun and edgy way to embrace the fur trend.  I love … [Read more...]

Casual Christmas Tall Outfit

I know it's crazy to be talking about Christmas in September (but is it?!) but I stumbled upon this adorable sweater a couple of weeks ago and have been meaning to share it with you.  While I'm a big fan of red sweaters, sometimes I wonder at just how many holiday get togethers can you rock that same red sweater and get away with it?  It's fun to take a holiday or "theme," and do something a little unexpected with it.  While I think anyone with a youthful attitude and some style can rock this look, it certainly fits the bill for our young readers.  If you're really going casual it'd look adorable with a pair of Ugg Boots as well. Tall Stag Sweater.  Steve Madden City Style Satchel. Women's The Rockstar Skinny Tall Cords. Kling Tight Bootie. Up to size 14. See another look for this sweater here. … [Read more...]

Leopard + Black Denim + Chambray

Random combination?  I think not.  Check out this Pinterest  image by bff texted me the other night (and this is why we are best friends): I can't tell you how much I love this.  It's a bit edgy but refined, chic, modern, and pretty, all at once.  Here's a tall woman version: Eden Black Wash Tall Jegging.  35 inch inseam. Nine West Austin.  Up to size 12. Chambray Tall Pullover. Michael Kors Medium Travel Tote. I love this look alike and honestly I think it'd look so much better on!  I picked the Eden jeggings because they had the faded look I was going for.  (But if you really want edge, my 5'11" best friend ordered and loves these).  The chambray top could be a bit more faded/distressed but with a few washes, it will be. :)  Hope you're inspired! … [Read more...]

Under $35 Tall Clothing Reviews

Hi there! Sorry I've been MIA.  My daughter is turning 2 and I've been busy planning her birthday party.  You may remember from this post, I love to go all out...and it typically catches up with me in the final weeks! But I wanted to stop by quickly to review some tall clothing items for you before they sell out! Later, I will attempt making outfits with them like I did here.  But for now... First up?  The sweats I featured in the tall lounge wear post.  Women's Tall Drawstring Skinny Sweatpants. $22.94 I have zero negatives about these pants! They are super soft, don't stretch out too much, and fit just right! I ordered a medium and they are roomy without being too big.  If I want them tighter I can roll down the waist band.  Sometimes this partner store has fake drawstrings on their clothes (a pet peeve of mine!), but this draw string is real so you can adjust appropriately.  I am 6 feet tall and the medium is plenty long enough.  I'd say these pants would fit up to 6'2" and … [Read more...]
