Tall Clothing Review: Your Coziest Sweater Awaits

I think the title of this post says it all.  I am in love with my new tall shawl sweater.  Unfortunately I just noticed last night (prior to getting this written!) that it's nearly sold out in tall sizes.  If you like it, run, don't walk and order now!  It also comes in graphite and black and while I generally try not to buy several colors of the same clothing item, I'd make an exception for this one.  Here are the things I love about it:   -It's very warm and cozy.  It can actually be worn as a jacket in the chilly (but not freezing) fall months. -The oatmeal color is the perfect neutral.  You can pair it with brights, brown, or black. -The sleeves are SO long!  Sometimes the tall items in this partner store aren't as long, especially in the sleeves, as I'd like them to be.  Not the case with this one! -It's perfect to layer with button down shirts or tees.  Even a ruffly or more feminine shirt underneath would look great. -The price.  With all the sales lately, … [Read more...]

Tribal Trend

Hello! I've been MIA but for good reason!  I had a baby boy about a month ago!  He's perfect in every way but we're still getting used to life with three kiddos!  I plan to blog a tiny bit here and there until I can get back into the swing of things.  I've missed having an excuse to browse cool clothes and fun trends!  Today I wanted to share a couple of easy and stylish looks for fall featuring one of my favorites: the tribal trend.  I became obsessed with this trend last fall (perhaps it's what influenced my son's nursery?) and am quite pleased that it's stuck around. Today I bring you two looks featuring tribal inspired cardis + skinny jeans + mocs.  It's an easy casual and chic combination!  Pair the cardigans with a chambray shirt (my go-to) like this one or a long sleeved tee like this one.   Sweater: Desert Night Cardigan. Tall jeans: 1969 Real Straight Tall Jeans. Moccasins: El Paso II Suede Moccasin. Up to size 11. Sweater: Oversized Textured … [Read more...]

Tall Maternity Style & A Review

I can't believe it's been THIS long and I haven't shared any maternity posts!  I suppose life has me very busy but I couldn't go another day without sharing a maternity look with you!  Here's the sporty one I wore the other day: 1969 Always Cuffed Skinny Jeans. I really like the jeans! I love the wash and the cuff.  They aren't "tall" per se but fit like longer length capris.  For some reason this pregnancy, I've had a really hard time finding pants and jeans that stay put and I have to admit these do sag on and off while I'm wearing them--requiring me to pull them up.  I felt in between sizes and went up to the next size which was probably unnecessary because they do stretch a bit throughout the day.  All in all I'd recommend them but be warned- they aren't the perfect pair.  That said, the price is right and it's tough to find cute/trendy maternity wear so to me, the imperfections are worth it. Asos Baseball Maternity Tee. I actually own this one but it's only available in one … [Read more...]

Tall Personal Shopping: Day to Night Dress for Vacation

Client: 6'0" women Size: 6, 36" inseam Budget: $50 Request: My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Washington DC this summer.  I'd like a tall summer dress that I can wear during the day while sightseeing but that can be dressed up for an evening out.: Tall Snob Responds: I love this request! It's very realistic- when you travel you don't want to over pack so it's important that clothing items pull double duty.  In addition $50 is a reasonable price for a day time dress (though magazines would have you believe that $150 is "normal." Don't you hate that?!).  I probably should have requested the client's age for a more specific search but here's what I came up with (and keep reading for some tips on taking dresses from day to night!). All dresses are under $50, with many falling under $40. Other than the dress on the top right, I consider these dresses ultra feminine in style.  The top right is a bit more classic with its shape and navy and white stripes. Tall Blue … [Read more...]

Fresh Color Combo

As usual when I'm uninspired, I peruse Pinterest.  It works every time.  This time I came across this pin and decided to find some tall items in this fun color combo: pale jeans, bright pink, and mint. via Pinterest. As I was collecting items, I didn't intend to create real outfits but the look on the left and on the right could easily be worn together.  I love the light jeans with the pastel colors.  Sources are below: Tall Peplum Top.  Colorblock belt.   Fitted tall boyfriend shirt. Lightweight boyfriend tall cardigan.  Foxy Joy Bleached Skinny Jean. 37 inch inseam.  Cable Knit Tall Sweater. Pink shoes. Up to size 12.   Mint Shoes. Up to size 12. … [Read more...]

Tall Jumpsuits For Every Age

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've shared fun finds and inspiration with you!  I have a really good excuse which I blogged about on my personal blog today! (You can see that post here).  Let's just say I may be highlighting a few more maternity looks in the coming weeks! :)  I've been very sick on and off and have put any "extra" energy into the weekly newsletter!  But I'm feeling better lately and hope to be able to blog here more frequently! Today I wanted to highlight some fun finds from a favorite partner.  I love rompers, one pieces, jumpsuits--whatever you want to call them.  But it can be tough to pull off depending on your body type, age, and personal style.  I thought it was interesting that the three offered in tall sizes at Alloy right now seem to neatly fit into three age categories.  Now, I always have to give the disclaimer each time I mention dressing for your age or stage in life that there really are no hard and fast rules! If you like it and feel confident in … [Read more...]
