Alloy Has a New Tall Shop

We all love Alloy! After all they have long inseam pants and jeans up to 37″ long, tall maxi dresses, some longer length shirts and all at affordable prices. Alloy now has a new tall shop – with all of their tall or longer length items in one section for easier shopping!  Don’t you love it when stores make it easier for us to find what we need?

So, how do I shop at Alloy? A few years ago, I tried them, didn’t get the right fit and gave up on them.  But, over the past year, I decided to give it another try and was pleasantly surprised. Obviously, I’m not a youngster anymore. {Sigh}. And a lot of the clothing is geared more towards teens. But, I have found items that I can wear. (pants and jeans).  I usually check the size chart and then order the item in the size I think I am, and then a size larger. I know, what you’re saying, that this is a huge pain, but I order two items and return the one that I don’t want to keep.  So, why would I go to all of this trouble? Why not just spend a little more and shop somewhere else?

The truth is that I work from home, yes blogging is work and I spend a lot of hours working.  I’m also a mom of five kids.  Most of my wardrobe is normal everyday jeans and casual clothes. I love to mix up my wardrobe and Alloy has some affordable pieces that actually look fine.  No, they are not designer and I buy some of those too that I wear when I’m going out etc.  But, for everyday wear carting kids around, I’m not glammed up. {Sorry to disappoint you}. Some of their jeans and pants are low-cut and I only buy the ones that look like they will hit me mid-rise.  I also find that I need to wear a belt with Alloy jeans as the waist can stretch out just a tad bit. But, overall I think Alloy is a great option for the budget-minded ladies in the age of teens to middle aged. And I do think the swimsuit below would take a smoking hot body to pull it off, thus I’ll pass on it.

  1. Any feedback on how Alloy jeans fit? I haven’t tried them, however I’ve tried Delias, which seems to be pretty similar. I found that the rise was too low and they were giving me a muffin top to the point where if I tried a pair where the waist fit properly, they would be too baggy in the thighs. I would attribute this to body type, however I’m a true 8 or 29 everywhere else and everything tends to fit how it should.

Next time I’m in my 20’s and early 30’s, I’ll definitely keep Alloy in mind, oh and have a body like Giselle’s…lol.

Emily I updated the post above to answer your question on how I think the jeans fit. Hope this helps.

The swimsuit is def. a pass for me, but I wanted to show different items that may be of interest to tall women. I do find that for everyday wear some of their skinny jeans and boot-cut jeans are just fine. See the revised post above for more details.
