Tall Wrap Dress Review

A few days ago, I received Lands’ End 3/4-sleeve Knit Faux Wrap Drapey Ponté Tall Dress. (Available in 6 colors)

I love almost everything about this dress.  I think I’m on a quest to try every tall wrap dress out there as I love them! It’s made of a thicker ponte knit fabric that skims over the curves. The waist hits me like an empire waist and looks beautiful. The wrap skirt won’t open up causing wardrobe malfunctions as the extra fabric underneath the wrap extends to the opposite hip area.

For my figure, I have a few issues with this dress. I found the arms were a tad bit too tight for me around the lower arms, but if you have really thin arms they will fit fine. Also, I’m a very conservative woman. I could wear this dress and be fine, but I’m so darn picky. I would prefer an extra 1-2″ in length. I’m 6’1″ tall with a 35″ inseam length. When I stand, it’s about 1″ above my knee so when I sit it’s around 3″ above my knee.  Since, I will wear this the most to church, I want it a little longer.

So this tall wrap dress is going back, but I’m guessing many of  you will love it!   The price is excellent, so if you’re on the fence about this item, you may want to buy it to see if it works for you.

  1. Hi Krista,

Funny how you are posting about an item purchased from Lands End. I too, unfortunately, will be making a return. For me it’s the tall down vest. I took advantage of the 40% off sale. I was so excited, until I tried it on. I’m 5’10” and generally wear an 8 or 10. Always a size Medium in tops. I tried on this vest and I could have wrapped my best friend in with me. Not only did it fit like an X-Large, but there was virtually no puff, the fill must have been about 200, the slit pockets were very shallow, without even a snap. It wouldn’t have held a tissue. However, it did have one redeeming quality, a very important one, it was long enough. Oh the sandals are going back as well. Adorable patent leather, but oh so painful between the toes. Although I will never give up on these great deals, sometimes if it’s true good to be true…well everyone knows the rest. Have a wonderful day.! Oh wait I did find a great pair of Lee slenderizing, tall, vintage blue, jeans on sale for under $35. They fit absolutely perfectly. No alterations required, no gapping at the mid rise waist, no breaking of the bank…thrilled.

Thanks Susanne! I think it’s like anything, you have to get the item, try and it and hold your breathe to see how it fits. Bummer as this seems to be our lot in life. Glad to hear about the Lee slenderizing. If you want to write up a review on them for me, I’m happy to publish it. Just seem me an email and if you have any pics that is an extra bonus, but not necessary.
