I saw these TROOPA boots and my mind went crazy with options. This outfit is my attempt at a cool, chic, and neutral look.
I am always encouraging our tall readers to take risks. If I’m being honest, this outfit would be a risk for me! I alternate between preppy chic and glam. Typically if I were to wear the skinny jeans pictured, I’d throw on knee high boots (either 3 inch heels or flat riding boots), a chunky sweater, and a bright necklace. That’s my uniform. The layered tee with the sweater, the military inspired boot, and the edgy earrings would be a stretch. But one I’d gladly embrace. I am in love with military anything. I once saw a photo of Russian military uniforms and about died. I literally ripped it out of the magazine and hung in my closet. They were beautiful. I wished I lived in a world where I could show the photo to my personal designer who would whip up a similar look for me. These boots bring back those feelings. But they are off the rack. I can live in reality instead of my parallel universe. Yay me. The boots were so cool, they just begged for tough yet chic accessories. How amazing are those earrings?! I’m constantly amazed at how such a small accessory can make such a big impact. You’ve heard me say before (and you’ll hear me say it again!) that accessories make all the difference when you’re tall and are sometimes forced to wear basics. A white tee and jeans? Boring. Throw a big leather bag over your shoulder, amazing boots on your feet, and a bright statement jacket over it all and voila. Chic. (I think I feel another outfit idea coming on!)…
